TEAM MODE
2v2 - 3v3 - 4v4
Allies can pass around guns and items
When playing in team mode, players can pass around guns and items to their allies. This can only be done (1) at the start of the game after all players received their starter guns and items before player 1 lands on the battlefield to start the game. (2) If allies are in the same field and one of them has the turn and did not move or act yet.
The team loses if all of its players are eliminated
When playing in team mode, players can pass around guns and items to their allies. This can only be done on (1) At the start of the game after all players receive their starter guns and items before player 1 lands on the battlefield to start the game. And (2) when an allies are in the same field with other allies and one of them has the turn and did not move or act yet.
Friendly fire and other team mechanics
Players can choose to attack their allies. Attacked allies can react as usual, this can be advantageous in some scenarios in which allies can react to move or use medkit to relieve themselves in tight situations. Some splash damage can include allines. E.g. when the damage mechanic reads “dmg to ‘everyone’ in a field” -this includes your allies and yourself. Some character cards can affect all allies, all enemies, or everyone in the field. Check character card descriptions for exact mechanics.
ADJUSTMENTS
FOR 5, 6, 7 and 8 player games
Guns and Items Distribution
Number Of Players |
Starter Guns and Items |
Corner Fields Guns and Items |
2 to 5 | 1 gun and 3 items | 2 cards on corner fields |
6 | 1 gun and 3 items | 1 card on corner fields |
7 | 1 gun and 1 item | 1 card on corner fields |

Landing on the battlefield safe distance adjustment for 5, 6, 7 and 8 player games
On the standard 4-player game, players are only allowed to land on fields that are 2-fields away from enemy players. For 5 and 6 player free for all, players can land with 1-field away from each other. For 7 and 8 players, there is no safe distance. In all team-based games, 2-fields safe distance is used.
Ultimately, players can alter the rules and adjust all of this to suit their liking.

BANS AND PICKS
What is Ban-N-Pick?
Ban-N-Pick phase is only used on serious games that uses character cards. This phase is a way for players to make unwanted characters unplayable for both teams while also strategically picking characters which players think has a good chance to win given the odds of the current game set up.
When is the Ban-N-Pick Phase?
The Ban-N-Pick Phase happens after all players have received their starter guns and items, after the battlefield has been set up and after the player order has been agreed.
How to do the Ban-N-Pick?
The team with the Player 1 is Team A. In this case, Team A will initiate the Ban-N-Pic.
Step 1- Team A will ban 2 characters by stating the names and titles or placing the cards on the set. |
Step 2- Team B will do the same, banning 2 characters in the same method. |
Step 3- Team A will pick 1 character by stating the name and title or placing the card on the set. |
Step 4- Team B will pick 1 character in the same method. |
Step 5- Team A will select their second character to play. |
Step 6- Team B will select their second character to play and will end the Ban-N-Pick phase. |
After the ban and pick phase, player 1 will now land on the battlefield to start the game.

OTHER TIPS
All adjustments under team mode applies in tournament mode
Since 2v2 is team based, all adjustments under ‘Team Mode’ stated above is applied.
Order of turn of player can change the gameplay
In 2v2, the order of who goes first and who are the next players to have their turn is randomized. For instance, Team A is played by Mike and Jason, however their player cards are Player 1 and Player 4, this means that while ther are in the same team, Mike will be the first one to have the turn of everyone and Jason is the last to move, while Team B has Players 2 and 3 which has a possible focus fire combo strategy.
Nuke has higher chance to be used
Since 2 players are working together and can pass around items, they can focus to chase items to get a chance for a nuke. There are also characters that can view cards on the field, view all cards of an enemy, as well as steal an enemy card. Good luck!
High chance that characters hold their specialty guns
Since the starter guns and items are distributed before picking a character, there are good chances that players will pick characters than specializes in the starter guns they have. So if you see your enemies pick Cecilia, there’s a high chance that a sniper rifle is in their hands. Also, all guns only has 1 duplicate, so whatever you have means that there is a lower chance that your enemies have them too. Good Luck!
FATEFIELD FOR BEGINNERS
HOW TO TEACH
Note: Watch the How-to-Play Vid before jumping in here!
Learn about how gun damage and range works
The Shotgun and the Sniper Rifle B are the best guns to learn or teach about how gun damage and range works in Fatefield. Additionally, new players can ignore the dice roll effects of each gun to not add complications early in the game.
Skip the use of ‘react’ mechanic
On each turn of players, moving with the use of a dice and then doing an act can already be too deep especially for non-board game players. It would be best to not include the ‘react’ mechanic because there are tendencies for new players to follow or get confused about whose turn is it now.
Show the character cards but don’t use it yet
The character cards help to make the game more interesting so it is great to show it to new players to tell them how deep this game can be. However, there are character skills that requires the players’ full understanding of how act and react works and also how damage and range are implemented.
Set up a smaller battlefield
New players, especially when playing 1v1 on a smaller table or space can create a smaller battlefield with the use of only 12 field cards.
FAQs
And common misunderstood mechanics
Picking up a gun or item after landing on a field = wrong
Players should only take a gun or item card on a field at the very start of hiser turn. This is designed so that opposing players can use skills that would push or pull players away from their field and can probably get nothing at the start of their turn.
Using the ‘Armor’ item card as a react = wrong
When you have an ‘Armor’, you can choose to use it or not. This is used when you are taking damage, simply drop it for all players to see and reduce your damage taken. You can then react after that if allowable.
Using the ‘Frying Pan’ item card as a react = wrong
The ‘Frying Pan’ can only be activated when you’re taking damage that would lead your HP to go 0. Drop the frying pan for everyone to see and roll a dice, if your dice hits a 6(which is a 16.67% chance), you get to live with 1 HP, and then you can react to move out, heal yourself, retalliate or etc. However, in the future update, we change the frying pan’s card description to make it more clear.
When you take damage and your HP is now 0, you can’t react
When your HP reached 0, you cannot react to use medkit or retalliate. You can only react when you survive using the ‘Frying Pan’ or some specific character card skils.
About characters that cannot obtain guns and items
Characters that can’t obtain guns and/or items will still receive a starter gun and items but will immediately dispose all of it at the start of the game before Player 1 lands on the battlefield. This way, players that can’t obtain guns and items still has a sense of what gun and items the enemy do not have plus players can actually pass this to other players when playing in team mode.
